Ranting #1
During the elections, there were a few hot topics that were constantly addressed, whether it be by the candidates themselves or the media in general. The one I want to talk about is the whole gay rights movement.
Now when the people were called upon to vote, every gay rights issue (that I can remember being on the ballots) was shot down. Notwithstanding, there are those who advocate the "alternative lifestyle". Some charismatic preachers are numbered with the supporters. Their argument for their support is that we're all God's children. This is where I strongly dis-agree. While we may all be the creation of God, we're not all children of God. Part of Christianity (which is a lifestyle that qualifys one to be a Child of God) is obedience. The Bible clearly describes homosexuality as a sin. Just read the first two chapters of the book of Romans. (KLV if you really want the power behind the words.)
I don't hate homosexuals. In fact, I know one or two to be very good people, but that doesn't make them a Child of God. If homosexuality is okay, then God will have to resurrect Sodom and Gamorah and apologize to them.
Michale Moore, the Director and Lord-knows-whatelse of Ferenheit 911, is planning a sequel. I haven't seen the first movie, but I did witness the incredible division it caused.
Now that the people have decided who they like, and the electoral college has decided who should be president, I sincerly hope that Michael Moore is plannig a sequel that will promote unity. After all. Our friends and loved ones are risking their lives and they need our support. They don't need the stress of a divided nation quarling over a war that marches on with or without the attention or aproval of this great nation's citizens.
I leave you all with this thought. It is a thought that I've heard my pastor say time and time again.
"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."
God Bless America. (and He has, too)
'Til next time.
